Voters Approve $14,400 to Rebuild Online GIS Mapping System

Marshfield will move forward with a rebuild of its online Geographic Information System (GIS) following the approval of Article 5. The $14,400 appropriation from free cash will fund software and server upgrades for the application used by both town staff and the public.
Town Planner Karen Horn informed voters that the current ArcGIS system was brought online in 2019 using software that has since become outdated. This is a one-time upgrade that will rebuild the system and allow for greater flexibility,
Horn said. The Advisory Board recommended favorable action on the request, which passed by a majority voice vote.
Motion: To appropriate $14,400 from free cash for GIS rebuild.
