- Includes plans for a loop trail utilizing existing nearby parking.
Article 31 was approved by Town Meeting, allowing the town to accept the gift of an easement on South River Street for public access and the creation of new walking trails. The easement is key to unlocking access to a section of town-owned land that was previously landlocked.
S. Darcy of the Select Board and N. Bangs of the Recreation Trails Committee thanked the Chandler family for the donation. Bangs explained that the plan includes a loop trail that will utilize existing parking at the nearby Eversource lot. We think it's a nice location... it'll be a nice loop trail for people to walk on,
Bangs told the meeting. The project was praised as a cost-effective way to expand the town’s recreational offerings.
