Marshfield Approves Pembroke’s Entry into Vocational School District
Key Points
- Allows Pembroke to join the Southshore Regional Vocational School District
- Supporters say the move will reduce the financial burden on Marshfield
- The change required an amendment to the regional agreement
Town Meeting members voted in favor of Article 26, amending the regional agreement for the Southshore Regional Vocational School District to allow the Town of Pembroke to join as a member. The move is expected to have a positive financial impact on the existing member towns.
Advisory Board member Scott Swain noted that expanding the district will help distribute operating and capital costs across a larger number of communities. This spreads the cost across more communities and reduces the financial burden on existing members,
Swain said. The Advisory Board recommended the change unanimously.
Motion: To approve the amended regional agreement.
